What plastering services do you provide?
Reds Plastering provides a full range of domestic plastering services, including wall and ceiling skimming, re-skimming, plaster repairs, ceiling repairs, Artex skimming, plasterboard installation, dry lining and smaller plastering jobs.
Do you re-skim existing walls and ceilings?
Yes. Re-skimming is one of our most common services. We can re-skim suitable existing walls and ceilings to create a smooth, even surface ready for painting and decorating.
Can you plaster over Artex?
In many cases, suitable Artex and textured surfaces can be plastered over to create a smooth, modern finish. The condition and type of surface will need to be assessed first.
Do you repair cracked or damaged plaster?
Yes. We carry out plaster repairs for cracks, holes, damaged areas and sections of loose or deteriorated plaster. We can repair individual areas or larger sections where required.
Do you repair and skim ceilings?
Yes. We carry out ceiling repairs, ceiling skimming and re-skimming. This includes repairing damaged areas and preparing ceilings for a smooth plaster finish.
Do you take on small plastering jobs?
Yes. No job is too small. We are happy to carry out individual wall repairs, small ceiling repairs, patch plastering and other smaller plastering jobs.
Do you carry out external plastering or rendering?
No. Reds Plastering specialises in internal plastering work and I do not carry out external plastering, rendering or other external wall work.
How long does plastering take?
The time required depends on the size and condition of the property and the amount of preparation needed. Smaller jobs may take a day, while larger projects involving several rooms can take several days. We can give you an estimated timescale when providing your quote.
How long does new plaster take to dry?
Drying times depend on the thickness of the plaster, ventilation, temperature and humidity. New plaster should be allowed to dry thoroughly before painting. We can advise you on when your plaster is ready for decorating.
Do you provide plastering quotes?
Yes. We provide free, no-obligation estimates for plastering work. We can discuss the work required and provide a clear price for the job.

Yes. We work with homeowners, landlords and small building firms on a range of plastering projects, from individual repairs and re-skims to larger room and property plastering work.
What should I do before the plasterer arrives?
Where possible, furniture and personal belongings should be moved away from the walls and ceilings being plastered. We can discuss any preparation needed before starting the work and let you know if there is anything specific that needs to be done.
